COLOUR & PATTERN COLLIDE // INTERIORS

Quick & cheerful post from me today with this happy (hippy) home tour.

I love the explosion of colour & pattern, from the art on the walls, to the clothes in the wardrobe, not one spot is left without the colourful treatment!

I'll be back with a bit more on my weekend tomorrow :)

SCANDI POP // INTERIOR

Scandinavian design is everywhere. The ever-popular design style has filtered throughout the world & is now a common design scheme found throughout many a home, especially here in New Zealand. Whilst I am partial to aspects of the design style & can certainly appreciate it, it doesn't resonate with me as other design styles have.

When I stumbled across the above image during a 'pink couch' search on Pinterest, I was immediately drawn in. After scrolling through a number of gorgeous images of the rest of the apartment, I can honestly say this is the type of Scandinavian design I am most partial to!

I love how the books on the shelving add colour & interest to the crisp walls.

All white everythang. Walls, doors & floors all get the white treatment, however the apartment feels anything but sterile. There is a warmth & homeliness to the space which is extremely appealing!

This looks like a well organised kitchen- everything has a home & can be easily found!

Pops of yellow & real life greenery create a citrusy fresh feel for the bedroom.

What do you think- are you a fan of this minimally fun style!?

COLOUR ME // WEEKDAY

I have been a bit slack around these ways lately & haven't thrown up a Weekenders post in a few weeks, so thought I would put up a mid-week version!

I have been impressed once again by Kmart's new influx of homewares -- there hasn't been an update in some time, but the past few times I have been for a mosey there is always something new to get excited about. I am aware the Kmart Craze has buttoned off, with many people disgusted at it's supposed 'rip-off' of designers & trend makers, but the few small things I pick up are super affordable & such a quick & easy way to add something fun to the home, I really don't see the harm! This adorable ceramic pot & faux succulent was too cute to pass up- bonus that it requires no care!

I also spent most of my Wednesday catching up on this hilariously quirky mystery podcast. I love a good mystery podcast & this one is no exception! Plus the graphics are also pretty darn fabulous.

I hope your week is going swimmingly. I myself am counting down the hours to a weekend getaway, lets hope it flies by!

PASTEL BRIGHTS // INTERIORS

I am not normally attracted to pastel colours, but there was something about this home & the use of bright colours with the pastels, that really appealed to me.

White washed floors & crisp white walls give the space a large open feel, whilst allowing the clever use of colour to really stand out. Those pastel pink chairs also look ridiculously comfortable!

Greenery is also a huge part of this home design, making the space feel fresh & clean.

So spacious & appealing, don't you think?

I am super happy the end of the week is here- although it has sped by so quickly!

Hoping you have a good weekend ahead of you :)

ABSTRACT // ART

I know that abstract art tends to get a bit of a bad rep. It has been said that the lack of structure is difficult on the eye & at times, as though a toddler could have achieved the same look. I could not disagree with these sentiments more! There is something so whimsical & fluid about abstract works- I am particularly partial to ones that experiment with bright colour combinations & watercolour. So when I stumbled across these works by Prudence Caroline, I was in instant awe.

Insanely good, amiright!? The scale of works are perfect, as is the light wood framing, which works so well with each of the works. The styling is pretty on point too ;)

When I come across a new artist, I tend to get a bit stalkery & have to find out anything I can about them & what makes them tick. Her works are available here & you can follow her here

Hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday!

EXCITEMENT // THE WEEKENDER

An exciting/nerve wracking weekend of planning my trip to Europe in only TEN weeks. Cancelled tours have called for arrangements & rearrangements to be made, but I am beyond excited to be meeting up with my brother to explore Greece & Turkey together.

Counting down the days!

BOHO WONDERLAND // ENTERTAIN ME

Designlovefest is one of my favourite design & lifestyle blogs. It is one that I open up & read every day. I love the emphasis on art & design & how creative Bri is with the way she presents even the most mundane aspects of every day life. She puts such an emphasis on creativity & I love how she creates art, for arts sake, as an creative outlet just for the fun of it.

She recently posted to her blog this incredible patio makeover. The concreted entrance to her flat was kind of weird & dingy, but has now been transformed into a beautiful boho entertaining wonderland.

A huge part of this redesign included the use of neutral furnishings in wicker & leather, along with an abundance of outdoor potted plants & greenery. (I really love how bougainvillea leaves have been scattered about to add a pop of pink!)

She threw a wee lunch party to celebrate with some of her friends & they enjoyed some of my favourite mexican-inspired foods. Tortillas & shrimps & tomatoes & guacamole- not to mention the tequila shots & margaritas!

My only question is whether my invite got lost in the mail!?
