MINIMAL PINK // INTERIOR

I do realise that the title of this post seems to be a bit of a contradiction. I myself, would never really throw the colour pink into a truly minimal interior. When I think of minimalist design I think a combination of greys, whites & greens. But the internet has gone & broke down those design barriers & given us a minimal pink bedroom & I LOVE IT. 

If the pink wall had remained white, this room would certainly have felt incomplete. But that pink just tops off the whole look so well (& isn't the shade of pink just the best!?)

I could never have a minimal interior- I like nic nacs wayyy too much. But this interior certainly has me rethinking my priorities, that's for sure!

ROUND UP // THINGS I LOVE

1// I am a long standing fan of the Ahoy Trader cross- but am yet to own my own! With so many beautiful colour & pattern combinations, I don't deny the decision would be the toughest... but this one would be one of my faves.

2// A Coconut cushion. How freakin' cool is that. 

3// These Palm Tree Nike Roshes are fabbity fab fab. The sporty luxe trend doens't get much better than these.

4// Textbook Romance has just been released as a Pink Penguin book. Must. Buy. Now.

5// Isn't this get up just rad? City chic meets Hawaii casual. LOVE.

6// Ahh the headless dog vase is such a classic. Looking mighty fine with some greenery, a few fab florals would also nicely finish her off.

I LOVE YOU MUM // THE WEEKENDER

Golly me! It seems that I am having difficulty getting my weekend posts done & dusted before the next weekend comes along!! 

This past weekend was Mother's Day (as you can see my Mum & I are enjoying a bit of pink wine there!) My mum is one of the incredible ones- she is super supportive of everything (well mostly!) I do, goes along with half my crazy schemes & DIYs, is always keen for a good shop & a yarn & is just in general a fantastic person to be around. Thank you for being you & for being one of the best friends a girl could ask for. I love you Mum!

WHAT WINTER // INSPIRATION

 As the winter chill starts to set in over here I wish for the return of the warmer days. With a long Winter ahead of me, I crave the days where I can wear shorts & lounge in the back of cars roadside again (wait, did I ever really do that!?) PINK & BLUE // INTERIOR

The image above caught my eye on Pinterest earlier today. Out of a sea of stunning images this one called out to me. Now, I have never really been a huge blue person. I love it in small & vibrant doses. Sometimes it is the perfect additive to prevent a room or space from being too overly feminine- & this is such a case. From the textural pillows against the white duvet, to the whimsy wallpaper & the floor rug that anchors it all- the space is pure genius. 

Would love to know what those stunning flowers are called -anybody know? Paired with those gorgeous grasses these vases full of goodness add the perfect amount of texture & interest to the room.

IN THE PINK // STYLE

Whilst I am undeniably a huge fan of colourful interiors, I find it difficult to incorporate the same amount of exuberance in my wardrobe. I am naturally drawn to black clothing & often find myself purchasing items in black, greys & whites, colours which easily mix & match together & are suitable to go anywhere, do anything. 

For the past year or so, I have been consciously aware of what colour clothing items I purchase. I love the idea of mixing bright fun patterns & colours, but when it comes down to it, I am a much simpler dresser constantly sticking to the no more than two colours rule. That said, I am not afraid to wear something a bit different, or something that is bold & eye catching. This look for example consists of a vibrant pink shirt & lace skirt, which I just adore. 

Adding an extra bit of bright pattern & fun, this gorgeous clutch purse from Thailand & a statement silver necklace & an armful of bangles. Swag!

ESCAPISM // INTERIOR

This spacious European home, was a good ol' Pinterest find. Of course, what initially attracted me to the images was the mountains of cushions piled high over some of the many designated lazing areas.

Th beautiful colours & patterns stylishly clash with one another, set off against a sea of white & the gorgeous blue of the Mediterranean sky. 

Check out that golden pendant light, so deliciously exotic don't you think?

This home is just made for holidaying... I can't say much work would get done here,- What with those colourful & comfy pillows calling your name all day long!

SUMMER, THAT YOU? // THE WEEKENDER

Whilst winter is truly so very nearly here, this past weekend felt like summer all over again! The sun beat down on us throughout the day, I lazed on the deck & picked flowers. We took the boat out wakeboarding & surfing*  We ate hamburgers & fruit & drunk bubbles. It was primo.

And I am now ready to do it all over again...

MAMA TIME // THE WEEKENDER

This past weekend (I know I am a wee bit late in posting this week!) was my Mama's birthday. We spent the day furniture shopping & took a wee day trip over to Bayly's Beach for lunch which was lovely. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining, the birds were chirping... and then it rained!

Not to matter, it was a goodie nonetheless. Hope your day was beaut Ma!
