Loving these embellished wooden crosses made by Jai Vasicek, who is the owner of Ahoy Trader in Byron Bay, Australia  (which of course, I totally want to visit!) The use of neon paints, crazy pattern,  feathers, braid & so much more is so eclectic & quirky & creates a real statement for anywhere in the home! Needless to say I want one. Or two.

Hope your weekend is fun filled & happy!

This week, I cannot take my mind off peacock chairs & gorgeous floral arrangements. Wishing I was one of the many amazing stories, where peacock chairs are discovered on the side of the road or bought cheaply from second hand stores & given a new lease of life, with a slick of spray paint & new cushion. Ahh, this girl can keep dreaming!

Aren't these arrangements so pretty? I love how the colours are all different, with different shaped flowers, yet the whole arrangement works so harmoniously together!

This past weekend was a long one for us up here in Northland & Auckland & what a goodie it was too. I spent my Saturday at a 1st birthday during the day, then a 21st that evening. Sunday was spent chilling at the beach & although the weather didn't hold out for Monday, the Grammy's were on & what a treat that was! My mum & I sat with wine & chocolate & devoured the plentiful gorgeous dresses & admirable talent.

Oh how I love a long weekend!

Ahhh! I just love love LOVE this lounge room, with that huge couch/day bed! The talented husband of blogger Sophie Bell (behind the insanely cool blog Peppa Hart) whipped up this wooden couch frame & coffee table in a matter of days- how talented is that! I love how the arms of the couch are wide enough to display cool bits & bobs on, while the depth allows layers of cushions & blankets to be every-so-stylishly thrown on. Looks like a spot you could just sink into & struggle to get out of!!

I also feel that one of these for the outside deck may work just as well- imagine basking in the sun, reading a book during the day & star gazing with a cool bevvy in the evening! Sounds ideal...

Also check out the Peppa Hart instagram- it is filled with lots of bright colour & fun adventures

Happy Friday!

Having not been on my personal Pinterest in over a month, last night I found myself scrolling through pages of goodness & the next thing I knew, two hours had passed! It was good to have a catch up in the fashion & design world- it seems I have been absent for far too long. I had so many different tabs open, skim reading as fast as I could, with my poor old Macbook struggling under all the information it began to heavily lag. Afterward, I felt incredibly inspired to design, study, travel & just experience all of life's great little oddities.

The home & studio of Emma Gale was one of my standout finds of the night (trust me, there were plenty!) I know these images are not new, but I just love the compositions & thought that has gone into the images. The vivid colour & artwork layered upon the white vertical paneling wall is just stunning & creates a really happy atmosphere I just know I would love hanging out in. Ahhh, you can't beat good design. Also, the art Emma creates is freakin' cool. Her love of colour is truly inspiring - talk about soul sistahs! Check it out here.

I love this simple, yet effective way of adding a little bit of tropical prettiness to the humble ol' ice cube, I stumbled across on the Ruby Blog a while back. Not a completely unknown phenom, these ice cubes are super easy to achieve. All you need to do is collect a bunch of mini flowerheads & add them to water to freeze. They look beautiful & instantly set a carefree summer vibe!

I'm just going home to make some now...

Just how cool are these brand new prints from Evie Kemp? I loved her electric animal illustrations before, but now I am totally in love. The stroke lines, textures & bold use of COLOUR (which we can really only expect from Evie- oh to be so fearless!) all make for a totally unique wall art that you simply must get for your wall RIGHT NOW. You can get it right here. Or here. Go on do it, I dare you.

The hardest part is deciding which one to get... I decided on the top left, changed to the bottom right, bottom left, top right... You get my drift. The decision is HARD.

Well hello there & welcome to the New Year! Although this post is a rather belated one at that, the sentiment is very much the same.

It certainly has been a happy start to the new year for me- For the past month (& a wee bit longer!) I was lucky enough to fully move out to the family beach house, which is such a blessing. The whole pace of life changes when you are at the beach & even after the two weeks off over Christmas & New Years I have been commuting to & from work.

As soon as I drive through the entrance of the small beach community of Ngunuguru up here in Northland, I feel a huge sense of calm & easiness wash over me. The salty air, smell of BBQs booting up & the hum of motorboats passing by is something I could definitely get used to. Everyone moves at their own time at the beach, there are no pressures as you are free to pick & choose how you spend your day. An early morning paddle board or swim is followed by a long breakfast & topped off with a few lazy hours spent reading in the sun. The prolonged days turn into awe-inspiring orange sunsets & the warmth of the summer night settles in. Ahhhh.

Back to the real world now huh?
