COOL & CALM // INTERIORS

When it comes to decorating the bedroom, there is something to be said for a calming & peaceful atmosphere, a place to relax & disconnect from the chaos of everyday life. This room, is the perfect example. A combination of blonde woods, mixed with white, dusky pink & smoky grey creates a soft & simple space- with a splash of gold for a luxe feel

This gallery wall embodies the whole feel of the room, using images of natural elements like the sea & the moon. The pot plant sitting atop a stool, provides a quirky touch.

I love how the vase of bougainvilleas add an almost unexpected pop of colour to the altogether calm room!

WHOS HOUZZ // INSPIRATION

There is a lot to be said for homes that allow the furniture & personal momentoes do all the talking & this home is the perfect example. Whilst it may seem like the easy solution, it is actually much harder than one would think.  All white walls & light fittings allow the homeowners belongings to create the mood of the room & add personality- and this could go wrong very easily!

I am not a hug fan of the colour of the couch, that aside the collection of bits & bobs create a light & relaxed feel to this home, with a sense of fun. Smile-inducing works of art, endless piles of books, plants on every surface- it all just makes me feel so at home!

A LIL BIT OF SUMMER // STYLE

Ahhh. While summer is well & truly over there are still those beautifully sunny days that linger on & allow us to extend the good feelings for just a little bit longer. The cool often floods in around 3.30-4.00 but until then I determindly rock my chiffon shirts, skirts & sandals.

I absolutely adore this fun & flirty wee skirt that I picked up not so long ago, thinking it may have to be packed away for next summer- but it has had a few wears now & I am so glad. These shoes have also done me well this summer. They are fun & give me a little bit of extra height every day! Thumbs up I say.

HOLIDAZE // THINGS I LOVE

This week's things I love is all about the holidays! 

1 //  I am on the hunt for the perfect camera- something that is small enough to carry round on a daily basis & will be good for travel in the future, but can take a fab photo/video. And I think this is the one!

2 // Loving this bag charm! Adds a burst of colour to any black bag (which I have more that my fair share of..)

3 // Another colourful addition to the mix, I just love these new cushions Dos Ombre have added to their already gorgeous & unique collection of homewares. The colour... the patterns... Pretty please!

4 // When travelling a good bag that can hold a lot, but isn't too large that it will become to heavy to cart round, is an absolute must. This bag is practical, with a whole lotta sass.

  5// I have recently been trying my hand at surfing & as the water temps have steadily dropped a chic new wetsuit would have me out there all day long. Well not really, but it might help to actually get me in the water.

6// And last but not least, Ray-Bans. Cos who doesn't love a pair of these bad boys?

TABLE TALK // INSPIRATION

The Amber Interiors Blog is one of my favourite blogs ever to follow. I featured her home here & have been a huge fan of her style & work ever since. I love how she cleverly combines colour & pattern, that is not at all overwhelming. I came across this wee DIY on her blog a while ago & thought it would be perfect to try... however the weather hasn't been so great to us as of late- not very conducive to paint drying! I am sharing some of the images anyway as I just love the way she styled this table for a lunch party with friends & family. It is relaxed & informal, but is so happy & vibrant you just know a good time will be had by all that surround it!

PIA'S WORLD // ART

Pia Blair is one cool cat. Originally from Melbourne, she has been living in Vietnam for the past three years. As a child she spent a great deal of time admiring her Grandmother's sewing patterns & fifties wall paper patterns- these early beginnings coupled with her recent years spent in Ho Chi Minh City have helped to shape the quirky & upbeat aesthetic of her work today.

By creating layers of treasured vintage imagery & sayings with paintings, stencils & Japanese washi tape, Pia creates these totally unique works of art that are rich in nostalgia, but bring happiness & colour to any space.

CHILL TIME // THE WEEKENDER

This past weekend was one of the first in some time where I had NOTHING planned. It was great to do some of the things I really enjoy, that I don't often make time for like baking, reading, relaxing in the sun & creating new vignettes.

COLOUR & PATTERN // INSPIRATION

Every morning when I get to work, I log onto our social media accounts, make a coffee & settle down to some of my favourite blogs. Starting my day off with such beautiful imagery & inspiring ideas makes for a productive & efficient day. 

Cush & Nooks is always a favourite & a few weeks ago Vic posted this project she had just completed (she offers all sorts of interior design services, check them out here) which I just loved! The combination of colourful accessories & investment pieces of furniture such as that gorgeous deep blue velvet couch & those wish bone chairs, have me wanting to decorate my own place- if I had one!

Patterned cushions & that kilim rug at the top are just some of the amazing finishing touches used in this home. I can't get enough of window seats either & just love this one used as a breakfast nook- so perfect & fun!

ADVENTURE // MY STYLE

I haven't done a style post in a while & this one was certainly not intentional! My mum & I hopped in the car for a wee adventure out to a beach we love but don't spend much time on. With new housing developments popping up on much of the free land surrounding it, we spent a great deal of time driving around & looking at the new properties. 

We had lunch right on the marina & drove to a couple spots along the beach. On the way we passed this pretty incredible line of rocks with some really intriguing formations that we just had to stop for a quick few photographs! This dress is a favourite (old Glassons) & seems to get pulled out for all the best occasions. The typical LBD, this dress is fun, flirty & a whole lotta cool.

 My super cool necklace is from Cush & Nooks & I love it. It adds just the right amount of colour & pizzazz to any outfit!

ENTERTAIN ME // INTERIOR

This bold space in some of my favourite colours is actually a converted garage, can you beleive?! Now a chic entertaining area, this happy space is filled with comfy seating, beautiful artwork & fresh greenery- perfect for a wee real-life getaway! 

Of course no entertaining spot is complete without a bar complete with a selection of cocktail ready glasses & mixers- this gorgeous space is no exception.

There's nothing I love more than scouring the internet for all sorts of interior & fashion inspiration. I come across so many breathtaking & heart pounding things, that I thought I would start to share some of these items here.

WORKING GIRL // ART

I came across some of these gorgeous water colour artworks on Pinterest (what's new!) the other day & couldnt stop thinking about how fresh & vibrant they were so decided they must be shared! 

Creative textile design studio Working Girl Designs is a New York based studio who specialise in hand painted & computer generated designs. Having been featured in exhibitions throughout the world, its not hard to see why they have such a cult-like following!

OLDIE // INTERIOR

Now this home feature is an oldie. But oldies can quite often be goodies, am I right? Featured on the Design Files back in 2011, there are so many elements of this house that are still so current. Not that 2011 was that long, but it just goes to show how good style really & truly is timeless.

Love a coloured front door & this kelly green is just the happiest. Such a great way to put a smile on ones dial before entering the home!

                            And who doesn't love a pink kitchen (Yes, I am looking at you Mum!)

COLOUR RUN FUN // THE WEEKENDER

I have just returned from Wellington extremely exhausted, but also extremely happy. My weekend was a full on one, but one I enjoyed SO much. It was so lovely to see some of my favourites again & spend time exploring much of the wider Wellington area. Of course there was lots of good food, plenty of drinks enjoyed, new friends made & all round good times topped off with The Colour Run a.k.a the happiest 5km in the world- I can guarantee that it really was a ton of fun! Who doesnt want to be covered in colourful powder? The best!

I'm off to catch some ZZZZZZ's. Big love!
