When I came across the image below on Pinterest, I had to know more about where it came from! After a little investigating I found the source to be that of Society Social, featuring stunning furniture, fabrics & goodies their online store stocks.

 I love that these wee vignettes have been created to give the consumer ideas on how they could potentially style a product. Very crafty!

COOLER DAYS // STYLE

Although the weather has now gotten a lot warmer, this was my favourite outfit of winter/spring. Returning to living in the north has been just wonderful when it comes to dressing- no longer do I need to bundle up in many layers to brave the Wellington weather. All that is needed is a singlet, shirt & jacket! A coat is needed on the occasionally cool moments & a scarf is always an easy way to add a bit of fun & excitement to an outfit, but hardly an essential.

BADASS COLOUR // INTERIORS

I recently stumbled upon these photos I had saved onto my computer earlier in the year via the very cool blog Citizens of the World. The home was one I could immediately see myself living in, with a neutral colour palette & an abundance of colour in the way of pretty things- a very 'me' space if you will.

I had the images saved for an occasion such as this. At the time I had not started this blog & knew this space would be a perfect showcase should I ever start one. It has just the right amount of colour, geometry, girliness & edginess- a combination I very much aspire to.

Citizens of the World is a great website which has articles on a range of different things, including interiors, life & travel. So don't be surprised if you see mention of them here again! (They also sell these amazing candles, but unfortunately they only have the one stockist in New Zealand, sad face)

PLAYING DOMINOES // DESIGNER

Domino Magazine is an American magazine that has returned to sale after a four year period of absence. Four years ago I was just graduating from High School & more worried about presenting my final art & graphic design boards, than looking to America for interiors inspiration. But I sure am glad for the visual feast of beauty it presents today.

Domino kindly introduced me to these images, which is the fine work of Houston interiors stylist Sally Wheat. There is much to love in her 'works of art'- from the clever use of old & new to the exciting use of colour & pattern. Each of these rooms have a lot of depth & personality, which really draws the eye in. Now I wont go on, I'll just leave you to drool over the rest of these babies...

FEELING LIKE A KID // OUTFIT

 

This is me. Feeling like a kid again in my stripes, jelly shoes & overalls. Now, I am not usually one who dresses with comfort at the forefront of my mind. BUT if I was, this would be the outfit I would chose. Comfortable, practical & a wee bit ridiculus. But that's what life is all about, right?!

FUN IN THE SUN // WEEKEND

Another wonderful weekend has been & gone- & this one certainly felt like summer was here! I even busted out the old 'kini & made an early start on the tan this year (yay!). I may have become a little too red & sore, which is a fairly good warning for me this early on in summer.

 Other highlights were school fairs, fireworks on the beach, flowers & of course, lots of yummy food (image shows cranberry nut nougat, very Christmassy & quite possibly the yummiest nougat I am yet to try!)

SILLY SEASON // COLOUR

As we head into the silly season, there is so much build up & anticipation of good things to come! I honestly love this time of year; it's my favourite. Nothing beats summer, with the longer days, swims at the seaside, outdoor BBQs & picnics... the list could go on & on. There's just that unexplained extra special fizz in the air, everyone's moods lift & there is general jolliness & silliness all round- it truly is contagious!

One thing I especially love, is preparing for Christmas. The decorating, the baking- I LOVE it. The images shown here are my inspiration for this year- nothing suits Christmas in summer more than a neon Christmas, wouldn't you agree? While I can appreciate a traditional Christmas with red, white & green decorations, it really just isn't me. My family have had a different colour themed Christmas for as long as I can remember- & I hope to keep it that way! With lots of DIYs planned to achieve this jolly look, I feel I better get cracking...
