LU DIAMOND FLOWERS // FLORAL FEATURE

I have been following the lovely Lu Diamond Flowers (isn't that a wonderfully whimsical name!?) on Instagram for a wee while now & totally adore the beautifully romantic posies she makes & sells. There are plenty of beautiful arrangements to scroll through on her feed that are all incredibly inspiring & has me wishing I could run off & immerse myself in pretty flowers for days on end! 

Today though, Lucy was featured over on Studio Home where I learnt much more about the beauty behind this wonderfully new & exciting brand. As a trained photographer, it is easy to see why her Instagram feed is full of lust worthy imagery, that has me double tapping on every image I see!

CHRISSY CALI STYLE // INTERIORS

... and this is how they do Christmas California style! The Boho chic vibe to this Christmas tablescape is just what you would expect from such an inherently sunny & warm state. It is such a laid back & modern approach to Christmas day & I love it.

COLOUR & TEXTURE // INTERIORS

These photos are another set that I had saved to my computer earlier on in the year, in the hopes of one day sharing them on a blog I was yet to create. I just love the use of colour throughout the entire home & the Moroccan feel that is created by the use of certain fabrics, textures & colour palette.

I could definitely see myself enjoying a long breakfast at this table or curling up on the window seat with the sun streaming in & a good book.

DECK THE HALLS // WEEKEND

This weekend was all about Christmas for me... from Christmas shopping in Auckland to Christmas decorating at home. I blared my christmas music , wrapped presents & enjoyed a peppermint hot chocolate or two. It was the best! I just love this time of year (I know I say this a lot, but it's so true!)

It also feels really good to be organised for Christmas & know I wont get caught up in the crazy rush the week before. Yay!

I ADORE CASTLE'S THINGS // MAGAZINE

I have been waiting for the new Adore Home Magazine to come out for awhile now, as their blog has been full of sneak peaks which has been building up my excitement & expectation of what was to be found amoungst the beautiful pages. And Castle & Things was one of those features I could not wait to see more of.

These exotically vibrant images show the studio of Rachel Castle, an artist who takes inspiration from funny little everyday happenings, such as dinner table conversations & her children. The work she creates is contagiously happy & is bound to make you smile. She says that "an artwork must personally speak to me. I know when it's right. If it makes me laugh or smile, it's a goer." I couldn't agree with you more Rachel, these works are bound to bring a smile to us all!

THE TOUR GUIDE // WEEKEND

Well this past week has sure been an exciting one for me! I had one of my favourite people come to stay with me in my home town for a couple days last week. I took time off work & became a mini tour guide, mostly of the beautiful beaches we are surround

ed by up here in the north of New Zealand. We found ourselves chasing sun for the most part though, being rained out at a couple beaches & moving on. But this was all part of the adventure & a wild one at that!

We went on to spend a few days in Auckland where we watched our most favourite singer perform (Taylor Swift- don't judge!), indulged in plenty of good food, checked out the sights, got lost amoungst the art at AAG & even did a bit of shopping. Ahhh, it was perfect. Thank you for the fun & crazy times dear friend, I will always remember to keep dancing like I am 22 as long as you keep me next to you.

Much love guys, hope ya'll had just as magical a weekend as I.

KERRIE HESS // ILLUSTRATOR

I haven't posted in a wee while, but I do have a pretty good excuse for it which I will elaborate on in a later post! I just wanted to quickly share these drawings by illustrator Kerrie Hess. I recently shared some photos of the home of her sister Megan Hess here & at the time was not aware that her sister was also a talented illustrator! I just love the depth of the lines & how they seamlessly come together to create such gorgeous images. The use of the selected colour palette is also very much a part of the attraction- especially the pink!. 

I only wish that I was in the Brisbane area so I could check out her current exhibition & perhaps even make a purchase!

RELAXING DAZE // WEEKEND

Well my weekend was a fairly cruisy one, filled with BBQs, Christmas decorating & a whole lotta sun! Probably the last weekend before things turn a bit crazy, so it was nice to sit down & get the bulk of my Christmas decorations all made up & ready to go. I cannot wait, this neon Christmas thing is going to be a goodie for sure! 

The weeks' seem to be absolutely flying by, so hopefully you are able to take a break & sit back & enjoy them, like I was able to this weekend!

GET IT // INTERIORS

I just love this home of Devon Dyer from Devon Rachel. It has white walls, pretty furnishings, flowers & a whole lotta sass. My kind of place!

Isn't that top chair just amaze? I could also see it in a pink velvet...or all white...

I adore this shelving. It's so versatile & could be used as a bookcase, for pretty storage boxes or just a good ol' showing off of your fave things! Handy investment.

LIL' BIT OF LEATHER // STYLE

There isn't much I love more than a lil' bit of leather (actually a lot of leather does the trick just as well!) This dress has the perfect amount of leather to make it an easy wear on a summer's day. It is light & loose, with a wee bit of sass. Just what I love. Pair it with heels for evening, funky wee sandals or jandals for day & Converse for a more casual look. Win, win, win methinks!

HERE+NOW // PRODUCT

I recently came across the talented design duo that make up Tassel + Gaine, a quirky new homewares business. Having met while working for two of Australia's leading retailers, the girls still manage to work full time & manage every aspect of their new venture- providing fashion forward products at affordable prices. 

These gorgeous colourful cushions are a treat for the eye & would look great in a number of settings, whether piled up on a bed or couch or separate on a desk chair or outdoors. I don't know what it is about watercolour & paint splatter cushions, but I really just can't get enough. I am sorry to say that my cushion collection's already getting a tad out of hand- but one of these babies would definitely be at the top of my list if I was in the market for more!

OLD HOLLYWOOD // INTERIORS

I have admired the illustrations of Megan Hess for quite some time now & always dreamed of owning one of her beautiful cushions. Commissioned to illustrate pieces for some of the biggest names in the fashion business such as Chanel, Dior, Cartier & so many more, this beauty certainly has it made. A couple of months ago, her home was photographed for Adore Home Magazine & I could not wait to get a sneak peak into the world of Megan Hess. 

 Boy, was I impressed! The elegance & glamour that exudes through her work & person is only intensified throughout her home. Old Hollywood glamour is brought to life with appearances from Coco & Audrey. A relatively monochrome pallete creates an opulent feel, with playful snatches of pastel pink & blue throughout.

Isn't it just stunning!? I really enjoy looking into the homes of talented creatives to see what they surround themselves with & what inspires them on a daily basis.

I wish I had the room to have a proper workspace, but alas the past couple years moving around have not allowed for it. I'll continue to admire & perve on other beautiful spaces, until the time comes where I can create my own!
